Parvati Nair was born on 5 December 1992 into a Malayali family settled in Abu Dhabi. She trained as a software professional at the Manipal Institute of Technology. She entered the modelling industry at the age of 15, undertaking assignments before making the transition to acting.
Career
Debut and early work
Nair made her acting debut in the Malayalam anthology film Poppins, directed by V. K. Prakash, in which she played the lead in all five segments. The film was shot during her Christmas vacations in December 2012.
Multilingual breakthrough
Following her debut, she appeared in a number of critically acclaimed films across the four major South Indian film industries. In 2014 she starred in the Kannada film Story Kathe, in which her performance as a young journalist won her the Best Kannada Debut Actress Award at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA).
In 2015, she appeared in the Tamil film Yennai Arindhaal, playing a vengeful wife. The role drew critical praise and earned her a Filmfare Award nomination. The same year she featured in the Kannada film Vascodigama, a critical and commercial success, in which she portrayed an English lecturer.
