Overview
Parul University is a private university located in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It was incorporated as a university under the Gujarat Private Universities Act Second Amendment of 2009. Its institutional origins trace back to 1993 with the establishment of the Ahmedabad Homeopathic College, which was Gujarat's first self-financed institute.
From its early base in Ahmedabad, the institution followed an expansionist approach, extending to Rajkot and eventually setting up its main campus in Vadodara in 2003. The university has also announced plans to expand into North India by opening a career counselling centre in Chandigarh. The Vadodara campus spans 117 acres and accommodates a large student population, including international students representing several nationalities.
Parul University comprises 32 institutes offering undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral programmes across a wide range of disciplines. The university places emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation under its current president, Dr. Devanshu Patel. It was ranked among the top 50 universities by the NIRF Innovation Rankings in 2023, and in the same year received Grade A++ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The university is also engaged in community welfare initiatives, particularly in the field of healthcare, through the organisation of health camps. In 2009, it established Parul Sevashram Hospital (PSH), an NABH-accredited teaching hospital that provides subsidised medical care to local communities and patients from other parts of India.
