Background
Parle Agro traces its lineage to the original Parle business founded by the Chauhan family of Vile Parle, Mumbai. Over the decades, the wider Parle enterprise was divided among different branches of the family, resulting in three independent companies that share the Parle name: Parle Products (biscuits and confectionery), Parle Agro (beverages and foods), and Parle Bisleri (packaged water). Parle Agro evolved as the beverages-focused arm of this lineage and is led by the Chauhan family.
History and timeline

- 1990s–2000s: Parle Agro divested some of its earlier soft drink brands (such as Thums Up, Limca and Gold Spot, which had been part of the broader Parle stable) to The Coca-Cola Company, allowing Parle Agro to focus on its own portfolio.
- 2005: Launch of Appy Fizz, a sparkling apple drink, positioned as a non-cola fizzy beverage.
- 2009 onwards: Diversification attempts into snack foods and confectionery under brands such as Hippo and Mintrox.
- 2020: Launch of Smoodh, a flavoured dairy drink in single-serve packs.
