Joshi worked in a number of Hindi films during the late 1980s and 1990s, balancing commercial productions with parallel cinema. Among her notable film appearances are Andha Yudh, Rukmavati Ki Haveli, Woh Chokri, and Bhraman Kaari. Her performances in independent and art-house cinema earned her recognition from the National Film Awards jury.

Significance

Joshi's career spans the transition of Indian entertainment from the Doordarshan-dominated 1980s to the multiplex and OTT era. She is regarded as one of the actresses who moved fluidly between parallel cinema, mainstream television, and, in later years, issue-based independent productions. Her two National Film Awards, separated by more than two decades, mark a continuity of critical recognition across very different phases of her career.
