Overview
Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), formerly known as Noorul Islam College of Engineering, is a private co-educational institution located at Kumarakovil, Thuckalay, in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. The institution offers higher education programmes and operates as a deemed-to-be university.
The institution was founded in 1989 by A. P. Majeed Khan. It began as an engineering college and subsequently expanded its academic activities over the years. It is run by the Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) Society.
On 8 December 2008, the institution was declared a Deemed to be University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Following this designation, it adopted its present name, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education.
