Overview

Neiphiu Rio (born 11 November 1950) is an Indian politician from Nagaland. He has served as the Chief Minister of Nagaland across multiple terms, holding the office from 2003 to 2014 and again from 2018, and is recognised as the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state.

In addition to his role as Chief Minister, Rio also serves as the leader of the house in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. Between his earlier and current tenures as Chief Minister, he represented Nagaland in the Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament from 2014 to 2018.

Rio is associated with the Naga People's Front and currently serves as the party's president.
