Overview

Nawroz Mangal, born Nawroz Khan Mangal on 28 November 1984, is a former cricketer from Afghanistan. He is best known for serving as captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team during a formative period for the side.

Mangal led Afghanistan to One Day International (ODI) status, a milestone achievement that marked the country's emergence on the international cricketing stage. His leadership during this phase is widely associated with the early growth of Afghan cricket.

In January 2017, Mangal retired from international cricket. Following his retirement as a player, he took up an administrative role and became the national chief selector for Afghanistan.
