Overview

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, commonly referred to as NUALS, is a public law school located in Kochi, India. It was established by an Act of the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 2005 and is among the older National Law Universities in the country.

The university is hosted on a 10-acre campus in the KINFRA Hi-Tech Park at Kalamassery, near the Naval Armament Depositary of the Indian Navy. Admissions to the university are conducted through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

NUALS offers a five-year integrated undergraduate Bachelor of Arts–Bachelor of Laws (BA, LLB) programme. At the postgraduate level, it provides a Master of Laws (LLM) with specialisations in Constitutional Law, Public Health Law and International Trade Law. The university also offers post-graduate diplomas in various branches of law.

For working professionals, NUALS conducts an Executive LL.M. degree spanning three years. The university additionally offers doctoral degrees in law.
