Overview

National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a public law school and a National Law University located in Cuttack, Odisha. It was established in 2008 under the National Law University Odisha Act (Act 4 of 2008), and commenced its first batch in July 2009. The university is among the National Law Universities established across India.

NLUO offers undergraduate programmes through its integrated B.A./LL.B. and BBA/LL.B. courses, along with postgraduate programmes including the LL.M., M.Phil., and PhD in law. The university's academic focus spans various branches of legal study and research.

Faizan Mustafa served as the founding Vice-Chancellor of NLUO and later went on to serve as the Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. Prof. (Dr.) Rangin Pallav Tripathy is officiating as the Vice-Chancellor of the university.

In 2023, NLUO inaugurated a large law library on its campus, expanding the university's research and academic infrastructure. The university has steadily expanded its activities in academics, mooting, and placements since its founding.
