Overview
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata (NIPER Kolkata) is a public postgraduate institute dedicated to pharmaceutical education and research. Background
The NIPER system was conceived by the Government of India to address the need for specialised, research-oriented education in pharmacy and allied disciplines. NIPER Mohali, established in 1998, was the first such institute and serves as the model for the wider network. NIPER Kolkata was set up subsequently as part of the expansion of this network to additional regions of the country, with the eastern Indian institute being co-located with established central government pharmaceutical infrastructure in Kolkata.
