Mominul Haque (Bengali: মমিনুল হক; born 29 September 1991) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who has represented the national team since 2012. A left-handed batter, he is among Bangladesh's most prolific Test run-scorers and served as the country's Test captain from 2019 to 2022.

Background

Mominul Haque emerged through the Bangladeshi domestic system and has been associated with first-class cricket in the country since 2008. He is recognised primarily as a specialist Test batter, although he has also featured in domestic limited-overs cricket.

Domestic career

Haque began his first-class career in the National Cricket League (NCL) with Dhaka Division in 2008. The following year, he moved to Chittagong Division, where he has remained throughout his domestic career.

He has also been a regular feature in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) since its inaugural season in 2012, turning out for multiple franchises across editions of the tournament.

International career

Mominul made his debut for the Bangladesh national cricket team in 2012. Over the course of his Test career he has accumulated more than 5,000 runs, a tally that ranks as the third-highest for Bangladesh as of May 2026.

Captaincy

He was appointed Test captain of Bangladesh in 2019 and led the side until 2022. During his tenure as captain, he has been credited with contributing to the development and improvement of fast bowling in Bangladesh.
