Career
Early international career and 2009 World Twenty20
Amir was a member of the Pakistan squad that won the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, contributing to the team's title-winning campaign in his debut tournament.
2010 spot-fixing case
In 2010, during Pakistan's tour of England, Amir was arrested for spot-fixing after bowling deliberate no-balls. He received a five-year ban from the ICC and was convicted of conspiracy charges at Southwark Crown Court in London, serving three months in prison.

Following the completion of his ban, Amir returned to international cricket in January 2016. In the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, he played a pivotal role in Pakistan's victory over India, dismissing the top-order trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.
Retirements and brief return
