Overview

Milind Murli Deora (born 4 December 1976) is an Indian politician serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra. He is associated with the Shiv Sena, which he joined in January 2024 after resigning from the Indian National Congress.

Deora entered Parliament at the age of 27, becoming one of the youngest members of the Lok Sabha at the time. He represented the Mumbai South constituency in the 14th and 15th Lok Sabha. During the second Manmohan Singh ministry, he served as Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, and later as Minister of State for Shipping.

During his tenure as a member of Parliament from Mumbai South, Deora worked on urban infrastructure initiatives and supported causes related to public sanitation, healthcare, and beautification projects in Mumbai.

Beyond his political work, Deora serves on the boards of the Arctic Circle, based in Reykjavík; Boston University, his alma mater; the United Nations' Health Innovation Exchange, based in Geneva; and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, based in Washington, D.C.
