Overview

Mignon du Preez (born 13 June 1989) is a South African former cricketer who served as captain of the women's national side across all three formats — Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) — from 2007 to 2018. A right-handed batter who has also kept wicket on occasion, she made her debut for the South Africa women's national cricket team in January 2007, at the age of seventeen.

Du Preez led South Africa in more ODI and T20I matches as captain than any other player for the country. She is also the highest run-scorer for South Africa women in both ODIs and T20Is, reflecting a long career at the top of the order across formats.

In April 2022, du Preez announced her retirement from Test and ODI cricket, citing a wish to focus on the shorter format of the game and to spend more time with her family. In December 2022, she further announced her retirement from T20Is, while confirming that she would remain available to play in domestic T20 leagues.
