Background

The Max Group traces its origins to a manufacturing enterprise built by Analjit Singh in the 1980s. Over time the group exited several legacy businesses and reorganised itself around services, particularly life insurance and healthcare, which became its core verticals. The group is led by Analjit Singh as founder and chairman emeritus, with members of the next generation of the Singh family active in operating and holding entities.

Group structure

The conglomerate is organised under multiple listed holding companies, each anchoring a distinct business line:

  • Max Financial Services – the listed holding company of the group's life insurance business.
  • Max Life Insurance – a private life insurer, originally established as a joint venture with New York Life and later partnered with Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, with Axis Bank subsequently taking a strategic stake.
  • Max Healthcare Institute – a hospital network operating across northern India, listed on Indian stock exchanges following its merger with the demerged hospital business.
  • Max India – the entity housing the senior care and Antara assisted living businesses after group restructuring.
  • Max Estates – the real estate arm of the group, focused on commercial and residential development in the National Capital Region.
  • Max Ventures and Industries – the holding entity associated with the real estate and ventures vertical.
