Overview
Manish Tewari (born 8 December 1965) is an Indian lawyer and politician affiliated with the Indian National Congress. He has served as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha across multiple terms, representing constituencies in Punjab and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Tewari was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Ludhiana, serving as a Member of Parliament from 2009 to 2014. During this term, he held the office of Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the Union Cabinet from 2012 to 2014.
He subsequently represented the Anandpur Sahib constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha. In the 2024 Indian general election, Tewari contested from Chandigarh and won, and he currently represents the Chandigarh constituency in the 18th Lok Sabha.
Alongside his political career, Tewari is a practising lawyer.
