Background

Mandsaur University was established to provide higher education in the Mandsaur district and surrounding areas of the Malwa plateau, a region historically dependent on agriculture and trade. The university grew out of educational initiatives in Mandsaur city that earlier offered professional and technical programmes, and was subsequently granted university status by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
