Malla Reddy University (MRU) is a state private university located in the Medchal–Malkajgiri district of Telangana, India. Established under a state legislative enactment, the university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across engineering, management, sciences, commerce and allied disciplines. Background

The university was incorporated under a Telangana state act that permits the establishment of self-financed private universities within the state. It was developed as the apex academic body within the Malla Reddy Group, which also operates a number of autonomous engineering colleges, a deemed-to-be-university in health sciences, and schools in and around Hyderabad. The campus is situated in the northern outskirts of Hyderabad, in the Maisammaguda–Dulapally belt of Medchal–Malkajgiri district, an area that has emerged as a hub for higher education institutions in Telangana.
