The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is a public university located in the city of Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It traces its origins to a college established in 1881, and was constituted as a public university on 30 April 1949. The institution is named after its benefactor Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the former ruler of the erstwhile Baroda State.
The university offers a wide range of academic programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels across diverse disciplines. Its academic structure comprises 89 departments, providing instruction and research opportunities in fields spanning the arts, sciences, commerce, technology, and professional studies.
