Overview

Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), also known as Madhya Pradesh Ayurvigyan Vishwavidyalaya, is a state university based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established in 2011 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh as a specialised affiliating university for health sciences education in the state.

The university exercises jurisdiction over institutions offering programmes in medical, dental, nursing and paramedical sciences, as well as colleges teaching Indian systems of medicine and allied disciplines, including Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani and Yoga. By bringing these streams under a single academic body, MPMSU functions as the common examining and degree-awarding authority for health sciences in Madhya Pradesh.

MPMSU has around 300 affiliated colleges across the state, with a combined annual intake of approximately 80,000 students. Its responsibilities typically include framing curricula, conducting examinations and awarding degrees and diplomas to students of its affiliated institutions.
