Overview

Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) is a state university located in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The institution is named after the educationist and reformer Madan Mohan Malaviya.

The university traces its origins to Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College (MMMEC), which was established in 1962 as an engineering college offering technical education in the region. The college functioned for several decades as one of the engineering institutions in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

In 2013, MMMEC was upgraded to the status of a state university and renamed Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology. With this transition, the institution expanded its scope from a constituent engineering college to a full-fledged technical university operating under the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
