Background

The MIT Group of Institutions was founded in Pune by educationist Vishwanath Karad, with its earliest institutions focused on engineering education. Over time the group expanded into a wide range of disciplines, including design, management, food technology, vedic sciences, film and broadcasting, and liberal arts. MIT ADT University was established as a multidisciplinary private university to consolidate several of these specialised institutes under a single university framework.
