Overview
Laura Wolvaardt (born 26 April 1999) is a South African cricketer who has represented the national side since 2016. A right-handed opening batter, she is regarded as one of the leading batters in the women's game and has been a mainstay at the top of South Africa's order across formats.
In Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs), Wolvaardt has accumulated 5,695 career runs at an average of 51.30, which places her fifth on the all-time run-scoring list in the format. Her consistency at the top of the innings has made her one of the most prolific openers in women's cricket.
Wolvaardt has served as captain of the South African women's team since 2024. Under her leadership, South Africa finished runners-up at the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup and at the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup, marking notable campaigns for the side in global tournaments.
At the domestic and franchise level, Wolvaardt represents Western Province in South Africa, the Adelaide Strikers in Australia's Women's Big Bash League, and Southern Brave in England's The Hundred. She has previously turned out for the Northern Superchargers, Brisbane Heat and the Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League.
