Overview

Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) is a state university in India dedicated to veterinary and animal sciences education and research. It is named after the freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. The university is situated in Hisar, a city in the state of Haryana.

The campus is located on National Highway 52 in Hisar. It lies immediately to the north of Hisar Airport and is adjacent to the Central Sheep Breeding Farm. The campus is approximately 15 kilometres north-east of the Hisar Bus Stand and about 17 kilometres north of Hisar Junction railway station.

As a specialised university, LUVAS focuses on academic programmes and scientific work in the fields of veterinary sciences and animal husbandry. Its location near established livestock and breeding facilities places it within a regional cluster associated with animal sciences activity in Haryana.
