Overview

Kyle Alex Jamieson (born 30 December 1994) is a New Zealand international cricketer. He represents Canterbury in domestic cricket in New Zealand and has played for the Delhi Capitals franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). A tall right-arm fast-medium bowler, Jamieson rose to prominence as part of the New Zealand side that won the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

Career

Jamieson plays first-class and limited-overs cricket in New Zealand for Canterbury. At the international level, he is a member of the New Zealand national cricket team.

In the Indian Premier League, Jamieson has been associated with the Delhi Capitals, the Delhi-based franchise that competes in the Twenty20 league.

ICC World Test Championship Final, 2021

Jamieson was a key member of the New Zealand squad that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. In the final, he took 5 wickets in the first innings and was adjudged the Player of the Match, helping New Zealand secure its first global Test title.

Significance

Jamieson's performance in the inaugural World Test Championship final established him as one of the notable fast bowlers of his generation in New Zealand cricket. His association with the Delhi Capitals also reflects the continuing involvement of New Zealand cricketers in the IPL.
