Career

Early work

Sengar made her television debut with the Star Plus daily soap Kasturi, in which she portrayed the title character. The role established her as a young lead and gave her early visibility in the Hindi general entertainment space.

Jhansi Ki Rani

She subsequently played the adult Rani Lakshmibai in the Zee TV historical series Jhansi Ki Rani, a dramatised account of the nineteenth-century ruler of Jhansi. The role required action sequences and period costuming and brought her wider critical attention.

Punar Vivah

In 2012 Sengar was cast as Aarti in Zee TV's Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed, a serial centred on the theme of remarriage. The show ran for more than a year and was one of the channel's prominent prime-time offerings during that period.

From 2016 to 2018 she played the dual role of Tanu and Tanuja in Colors TV's Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, opposite Sharad Malhotra. The reincarnation-based romantic drama was among her most widely watched projects and remains the role most strongly associated with her on-screen identity.

Later projects

Following Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, Sengar appeared in select television and digital projects, and has periodically stepped back from full-time daily-soap commitments.

Kratika Sengar married actor Nikitin Dheer, son of veteran Hindi film actor Pankaj Dheer. The couple's wedding was widely covered in the Indian entertainment press.

Significance

Within the Hindi television landscape, Sengar is regarded as one of the prominent female leads of the 2010s, particularly within the genres of family drama, historical fiction and supernatural romance. Her ability to carry dual and de-glamorised roles, such as the warrior queen in Jhansi Ki Rani and the parallel characters in Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, is often cited in discussions of leading women on Indian general entertainment channels.
