Kashinath Ghanekar

Overview

Kashinath Ghanekar (14 September 1930 – 2 March 1986) was an Indian stage and film actor who worked primarily in Marathi theatre and cinema. Alongside his career in the performing arts, he was qualified and practised as a dental surgeon.

Ghanekar earned wide popularity for his work on the Marathi stage and went on to feature in Marathi films, where his performances were well received by audiences and critics of his era.

He was honoured with the Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Actor on two occasions, for his roles in the films Paathlag and Deo Manus.
