Overview
Kamran Akmal (born 13 January 1982) is a Pakistani former international cricketer, who currently works as a coach and cricket administrator. A right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, he represented Pakistan across all three formats of the international game and was part of the squad that lifted the 2009 ICC World Twenty20. In domestic franchise cricket, he was closely associated with the Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Background
Akmal emerged as a wicketkeeper-batsman in Pakistani cricket in the early 2000s. He made his international debut in a Test match at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe in November 2002, beginning a long career with the national side.
International career
Over the course of his international career, Akmal served as a regular wicketkeeper for Pakistan and contributed as a top- and middle-order batsman. The defining team achievement of his career came when he was part of the Pakistan side that won the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, the country's first ICC world title in the shortest format.
Pakistan Super League
Akmal was an integral member of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise for the entire duration of his PSL career, representing them from the inaugural season in 2016 through to PSL 2022. During this period he:
