Background
The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, constituted to administer the urban agglomeration of Kalyan and Dombivli, established the municipal transport wing to serve the daily commuting needs of residents. The twin cities are major nodes on the Central Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, and KDMT buses act as feeder and connector services linking residential pockets with the railway stations of Kalyan, Dombivli, Thakurli and Vithalwadi.
Operations
KDMT operates a fleet of buses on routes within the municipal corporation limits and on selected inter-city routes that connect Kalyan and Dombivli with neighbouring localities such as Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath and parts of Thane and Navi Mumbai. The undertaking has a depot infrastructure to support its bus fleet and operates from key terminals near the Kalyan and Dombivli railway stations.
