Overview
Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (born 24 July 1976), commonly known as KTR, is an Indian politician and a Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He represents the Sircilla assembly constituency and serves as the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Rama Rao has previously held ministerial portfolios in the Government of Telangana, including Panchayat Raj, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Industries, and Information Technology and Communications. In these roles, he was associated with the state's policy initiatives in urban development and the information technology sector.
He is the son of K. Chandrashekar Rao, founder of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (formerly the Telangana Rashtra Samithi) and former Chief Minister of Telangana. His sister, K. Kavitha, is also active in public life. In 2015, Rama Rao was recognised as the Most Inspirational Icon of the Year by CNN-IBN and Ritz Magazine. On 25 November 2024, he visited Mahabubabad for a mega dharna.
