Overview
John Prakash Rao Janumala, better known by his stage name Johnny Lever, is an Indian actor and comedian known for his work in Hindi cinema. Born on 14 August 1957, he is widely regarded as among the most recognised comedic actors in Indian cinema.
Johnny Lever began his film career in 1984 and has since appeared in more than three hundred Hindi films. Over the course of his career, he has become a familiar face in mainstream Hindi cinema, often featuring in supporting comedic roles.
He has received numerous accolades for his performances, including thirteen nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role. He won the award twice, for his work in Deewana Mastana (1997) and Dulhe Raja (1998).
