John Abraham (born 17 December 1972) is an Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. A former model, he transitioned to acting in the early 2000s and has since established himself as a leading figure in Bollywood action and dramatic films. He is a recipient of one National Film Award and has received four Filmfare Award nominations. Abraham has featured in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list since 2017.

Acting career
Debut and early work (2003–2004)
Abraham made his film debut with the erotic thriller Jism (2003), which became a sleeper hit. The same year, he appeared in the supernatural romantic thriller Saaya and the crime thriller Paap. He rose to wider prominence with the action film Dhoom (2004).
Mainstream success (2005–2009)
He featured in the comedies Garam Masala (2005), Taxi No. 9211 (2006) and Dostana (2008). During this period he also took on critically appreciated dramatic roles in Water (2005), Kabul Express (2006) and New York (2009); the last was both a critical and commercial success.
Resurgence (2012–present)
After several commercial setbacks, Abraham regained box-office traction with the ensemble comedy Housefull 2 (2012), the action thriller Race 2 (2013) and the political drama Madras Cafe (2013). He continued with Welcome Back (2015), Dishoom (2016), Parmanu (2018), Satyameva Jayate (2018), Batla House (2019) and Pathaan (2023).
Film production and writing
Abraham launched his production company, J.A. Entertainment, with Vicky Donor (2012). The film won him the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. He has since produced several of his own starring vehicles. He also wrote the story for Attack: Part 1 (2022).
Other ventures
Outside cinema, Abraham is a co-owner of NorthEast United FC, a club competing in the Indian Super League.
