Winget was born in Mumbai into a Christian family of mixed Maharashtrian and Punjabi origin. She was educated in Mumbai and entered the entertainment industry as a child performer, appearing in films and television serials before transitioning to lead roles as an adult.

Early work

Winget began her on-screen career as a child artiste in the early 1990s, with appearances in Hindi films including Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya (2000) and supporting parts in television. She also featured in Kuch Naa Kaho (2003) in a small role.

Breakthrough on television

Her early notable television role was as Kumud in Kasautii Zindagii Kay on Star Plus. She gained wider recognition for playing Dr. Riddhima Gupta in the medical drama Dill Mill Gayye on Star One, which aired from 2007 and ran for several seasons. Lead roles

In 2013, Winget played Kumud Desai in Saraswatichandra on Star Plus, an adaptation of Govardhanram Tripathi's Gujarati novel produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. From 2016 to 2017, she portrayed Maya Mehrotra in Sony Entertainment Television's psychological drama Beyhadh, a role widely regarded as a defining performance of her career. She returned in 2018 with Bepannaah on Colors TV, playing Zoya Siddiqui.

Web series and later work

She reprised a variation of her earlier role in Beyhadh 2 (2019–2020). In 2020 she made her web debut as Monica Mehra, a senior army officer-investigator, in the ZEE5 legal-investigative thriller Code M, which received a second season in 2022.
