Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (commonly abbreviated as JNTUA) is a state public technical university located in Ananthapuramu, in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of the constituent technical universities formed after the restructuring of the erstwhile Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, and is named after Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.

Background
The university traces its institutional roots to the technical education infrastructure created in the undivided state of Andhra Pradesh under the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University system.
