Significance
Jatin–Lalit are considered among the defining composers of Hindi film music in the 1990s, a period that saw a revival of melody-driven soundtracks following the synthesizer-heavy productions of the 1980s. Their work on films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai shaped the sound of mainstream Bollywood romance during that decade and influenced subsequent composers working in the genre.
