Overview

J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, is a state public university located in Faridabad, in the Indian state of Haryana. The institution was originally known as the YMCA Institute of Engineering (YMCAIE), and later as YMCA University of Science and Technology (YMCA UST), before adopting its current name in 2018.

The institution was established as a college in 1969. It was conferred university status in December 2009, transitioning from an engineering college into a state public university offering programmes in science, technology and allied disciplines.

The university is named after the Indian polymath Jagadish Chandra Bose, whose work spanned physics, biology and plant science. Situated in Faridabad, the institution forms part of Haryana's network of state-funded technical and scientific higher education establishments.
