Overview

JIS University is a private university situated near Agarpara in West Bengal, India. It was established in 2014 under The JIS University Act, 2014, enacted by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

The institution derives its name from its founders, Sardar Jodh Singh and his brother Sardar Ishwar Singh, with "JIS" standing for Jodh Ishwar Singh. The university forms part of the JIS Group of educational initiatives.

JIS University functions as a multi-disciplinary, unitary and affiliating university. It offers programmes across a range of fields, including engineering, technology, sciences, humanities, law, medicine, pharmacy and management studies.
