Overview

The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is an advanced research facility located in Izatnagar, Bareilly, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The institute specialises in veterinary medicine and allied disciplines, and is regarded as one of the principal centres for animal sciences research and education in India.

IVRI undertakes work across a broad range of veterinary fields, including animal health, disease diagnosis, biological products, and related research areas. The institute also serves as a centre for higher learning, offering postgraduate training and research opportunities in veterinary and animal sciences.

In addition to its main campus at Izatnagar, IVRI operates several regional campuses across the country. These are situated at Mukteshwar in Uttarakhand, Bengaluru in Karnataka, Palampur in Himachal Pradesh, Pune in Maharashtra, Kolkata in West Bengal, and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The geographically distributed network allows the institute to address regional concerns in animal husbandry and veterinary research while contributing to a coordinated national programme.

Through its main campus and regional centres, IVRI continues to function as a key institution within India's veterinary research and education framework.
