Overview
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode or IIM-K) is an autonomous public business school located in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. It is one of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), a group of premier management institutions established by the Government of India.
The institute was set up in 1996 by the Government of India in collaboration with the State Government of Kerala. It was the fifth IIM to be established, following the earlier institutes at Calcutta, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Lucknow. IIM Kozhikode is part of the wider network of twenty IIMs operating across the country.
IIM Kozhikode conducts academic activities in the field of management education, with its work spanning research, teaching, training, consulting and the development of intellectual infrastructure. Through these activities, the institute contributes to management thought and practice in India.
