Overview

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore or IIMB) is a business school located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Established in 1973, it was chronologically the third in the first generation of IIMs, after IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad. Together, these three institutes form a group colloquially referred to as "ABC" or "IIM A/B/C".

IIMB was set up by the Government of India as an institute of excellence for education, training, research, and consulting in the field of management and allied areas of knowledge. It is situated in Bangalore, often described as India's high technology capital. The institute houses an entrepreneurship centre called NSRCEL, which functions as a business incubator supporting startups.

IIMB offers master's and doctoral programmes in business administration, management, business analytics, and public policy. It also conducts executive education programmes, along with bachelor's-level offerings in economics, data science, and digital business. The two-year MBA in general management is the flagship programme of the institute.
