Imam-ul-Haq (born 22 December 1995) is a Pakistani international cricketer who represents the Pakistan national cricket team. A left-handed top-order batter, he is best known for scoring a century on his One Day International (ODI) debut against Sri Lanka, becoming the second batter for Pakistan and the thirteenth overall to achieve the feat.

Background

Career

One Day International debut

On his ODI debut against Sri Lanka, Imam-ul-Haq scored a century, becoming the second Pakistani batter to record a hundred on debut in the format. In the broader history of the format, he became the thirteenth player overall to achieve a century on ODI debut.

Central contract

In August 2018, the Pakistan Cricket Board awarded Imam-ul-Haq a central contract for the 2018–19 season. He was among 33 players named in that round of contracts.

Significance

Imam-ul-Haq's debut century placed him in a small group of batters to mark their entry into ODI cricket with a hundred, an achievement that drew attention to him early in his international career. His inclusion in the PCB's central contract list further reflected his standing within the Pakistan setup.
