Background
The university traces its origin to the IIMT group of educational institutions, which had been operating colleges in the Meerut and Greater Noida region prior to the establishment of the university. IIMT University was constituted as a private university by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, bringing several of the group's academic programmes under a single university framework with degree-granting authority.
