She got a huge popularity with her performance of Akshara in the 2009-2016 daily soap opera titled Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and further she showcased her talent of acting through playing a famous negative role in the TV serial industry, Kamolika, in Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 in the years 2018-2019. She was born in Srinagar, J&K, into a Kashmiri Muslim family. From the CCA School of Management in Gurgaon, in 2009 she completed the MBA degree.

She had done every day soap operas named Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, where she played the lead part of Akshara for several years. She ventured into reality TV and afterward took on the iconic negative part of Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. Beyond TV, Khan has shown up in different movies and web series.

Professionalism
She publicly announced her diagnosis with stage 3 breast cancer in June 2024 and has been undergoing chemotherapy since then. Raising the bar, at times during Fashion Week 2024 in Ahmedabad, she walked on the ramp, wearing bridal couture while going through chemotherapy. Not only in Fashion Weeks but she has also walked for the fashion designer Manish Malhotra, channelizing her strength and creating a legacy. In April 2025, amid the Bombay Times Fashion Week, she walked for the brand Kiaayo. In spite of stumbling twice on the runway, Khan recovered nimbly each time, gaining reverence for her balance and assurance.
