Overview
Gurmeet Choudhary is an Indian television and film actor, dancer and producer. He rose to prominence in Hindi television through mythological and romantic drama roles, and later transitioned to Hindi cinema. He is widely recognised for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the television series Ramayan (2008) and as Maan Singh Khurana in Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi (2010–2011).

Background
Choudhary was born in Bihar and trained for several years in the Indian armed forces aspirational track before moving towards a career in entertainment. He shifted to Mumbai to pursue acting and dance, drawing on a strong foundation in martial arts and physical performance, which later influenced the action-oriented roles he undertook.

Television
Choudhary made his television debut in 2006 with Ramayan on NDTV Imagine, in which he played Lord Ram opposite Debina Bonnerjee, who portrayed Sita. The role brought him early national recognition. He followed this with the romantic drama Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi on Star One, which aired from 2010 to 2011 and consolidated his fan base, particularly among younger audiences.
He next appeared as Yash Scindia in Punar Vivaah – Zindagi Milegi Dobara on Zee TV (2012–2013), a serial that dealt with the theme of remarriage. Choudhary also participated in dance and stunt-based reality shows, winning the fifth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2012 alongside choreographer Shampa Sonthalia. He later participated in Nach Baliye 6 (2013–2014) with his wife Debina Bonnerjee, finishing as one of the leading pairs, and competed in Colors TV's stunt reality series Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 in 2019, where he was declared the winner.
Film
Choudhary made his Hindi film debut with the Vishesh Films production Khamoshiyan (2015), directed by Karan Darra. He went on to feature in Wajah Tum Ho (2016), directed by Vishal Pandya, and Paltan (2018), J. P. Dutta's war drama based on the 1967 Nathu La and Cho La clashes. He also appeared in The Wife (2021), a supernatural thriller in which he played a leading role.

Personal life
Choudhary married actress Debina Bonnerjee, his co-star from Ramayan, in 2011. The couple later had a court marriage followed by traditional ceremonies. They have two daughters, born in 2022 and 2023. The family is based in Mumbai.
Public engagement
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, Choudhary was reported to have been actively involved in arranging oxygen supplies, hospital beds and resources for affected patients in Mumbai and other cities, and he received public acknowledgement for these relief efforts.
