Overview

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is a public law school established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003. It is one of the National Law Universities in India and is situated in the state of Gujarat.

The university is located at Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat, approximately 23 kilometres north of Ahmedabad. As provided under its founding statute, the Chief Justice of India or a Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of India serves as the Visitor of the university.

GNLU is known for its competitive admissions process. It admits around 174 students to its undergraduate law programme, selected from a large pool of applicants, reflecting a highly selective acceptance rate. The university forms part of the broader system of National Law Universities in India that offer integrated undergraduate and postgraduate legal education.
