Overview
Govind Singh Dotasra (born 1 October 1964) is an Indian politician serving as the president of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. A long-standing member of the Indian National Congress, he has been associated with the party since 1981.
Dotasra represents the Lachhmangarh constituency in Sikar district of Rajasthan and has held the seat since 2008. He is a member of the 15th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and previously served as the chief whip of the Indian National Congress in that Assembly.
In the Government of Rajasthan formed in 2018, Dotasra was appointed Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Primary and Secondary Education, Tourism, and Devasthan. He resigned from the ministerial post on 20 November 2021, in line with the party's one-man-one-post policy.
Within the party organisation, Dotasra served as president of the District Congress Committee, Sikar, for seven years from July 2011 to May 2018, and as vice president of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee from 2014 to 2020. Ahead of the 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections, he was appointed chairman of the media and communication committee on 5 October 2018.
