Overview

Govind Guru Tribal University (GGTU) is a state university situated in Banswara, in the southern part of Rajasthan, India. The university serves the tribal-majority region of the state and functions as an institution of higher learning catering to students from this area.

The university was established in 2012. At the time of its founding, it was known as Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University. It was subsequently renamed Govind Guru Tribal University in 2016, after Govind Guru, a social and religious reformer associated with the Bhil community of the region.

As a state university, GGTU operates within the framework of Rajasthan's higher education system and is based at Banswara, a district headquarters in the tribal belt of Rajasthan.
