Gaurav Singh is an Indian cricketer who has represented Mizoram in domestic cricket organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He is associated with the state side that gained full membership of the BCCI's domestic structure in the late 2010s, when several teams from the North East of India were inducted into the senior tournaments.

Background

Mizoram became part of the BCCI's domestic competitions after the implementation of the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, which required full membership for all states and union territories. From the 2018–19 season onwards, Mizoram fielded teams in tournaments such as the Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Gaurav Singh was among the cricketers associated with the Mizoram squad during this period of the team's domestic activity.

Career

Gaurav Singh has appeared in matches under the Mizoram Cricket Association, the state's affiliated body with the BCCI. The team plays its home matches and conducts much of its training in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, with select fixtures at neutral venues used for the BCCI's plate group competitions.

The induction of cricketers from Mizoram into the BCCI's senior tournaments marked a notable step in the broadening of competitive cricket across India's North East.
