Overview
Gangadhar Meher University, Amruta Vihar is a state university located in Sambalpur, Odisha, India. The institution was formerly known as Sambalpur College and later as Gangadhar Meher College before being elevated to the status of a university.
The university is named after Gangadhar Meher, the noted Odia poet, whose literary contributions are widely recognised in Odia literature. The institution carries forward his name as part of its identity in the educational landscape of western Odisha.
The administrative leadership of the university includes N. Nagaraju as the vice-chancellor. Jugaleswari Dash serves as the registrar, while Uma Charan Pati holds the position of deputy registrar.
