Fawad Ahmed (Pashto: فواد احمد; born 10 March 1979) is an Australian former cricketer. Born in Pakistan, he later moved to Australia and was granted Australian citizenship in July 2013, which paved the way for his international selection.
A leg-spin bowler by trade, Fawad represented the Australian cricket team in limited-overs cricket. In August and September 2013, he featured for Australia in both a Twenty20 International and a One Day International series against England.
Fawad is one of two Pakistan-born cricketers to have played international cricket for Australia, the other being Usman Khawaja. His journey from Pakistan to representing his adopted country at the highest level has been noted as a distinctive aspect of his career.
